Stick insects are usually found in trees because of obvious reasons. They like to blend in with the trees so they can hide from the other animals or insects because there not that tough. The places they hide in a tree is next to a stick that is shaped like them. Stick insects eat green plants and green leaves, they don't eat other insects. What you need to know is that they can attack with a chemical that it sprays at other insects that are trying to attack it.  but it’s not used for killing other insects but for scaring and blinding them. It is possible that the chemical can kill insects but it doesn’t happen often. Their main predators are Birds, small reptiles, and rodents. The only times that there out of a tree is when there are no green plants or leaves. Stick insects are surprisingly common in New Zealand and can be found from coastal vegetation to the high-alpine zone. Here's some facts about stick insects.

1. Stick insects can shed and regenerate their limbs to escape attacks by predators.

2. People say that stick insects are highly venomous but actually there not really that venomous, the only venom that’s in them is there chemical which sprays almost no venom.

3. They don’t only look like a stick, they act like one to.
